Nine ways to interview a candidate, and the rest of the suite.
TalbotIQ makes nine interview formats, the recruitment software that turns a scorecard into a pipeline stage, and six business tools: a sales CRM, a business management system (ERP) for SMEs, a task and productivity manager, document management, a meeting note taker, and the private AI engine every product runs on.
The interview formats run on Mimic, the interview platform: you define one rubric, candidates take their round in a browser or on the phone they already have, and the platform recommends. It never rejects anyone; a named person makes every decision.
- Nine interview formats, compared below: live or asynchronous, who asks the questions, how answers are scored, and whether a camera is needed.
- One rubric across the scored formats, with each score linked to the transcript or moment it came from, so a first-round score and a final-round score sit on the same axis.
- Nobody is rejected by a model. The platform does the arithmetic; the shortlist is a recommendation and a named person takes every decision.
- One private AI engine under every product, scrubbing personal data before anything reaches a model.
- Pricing is quote-based. There is no public price list; book a demo and we quote for your volume.
How the nine interview formats compare
Every cell is taken from the product page it links to. A dash means that page does not state it, and we would rather show a dash than guess.
| Format | Live or asynchronous | Who asks the questions | How answers are scored | Camera | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Video Interview | Asynchronous, or live in the two-way mode | Recorded prompts, an AI avatar, or your own team live | AI, against your rubric; a human makes every call | required | First-round screening of every applicant, at volume |
| Recorded Video Interview | Asynchronous | Preset question sets you configure; nobody in the room | AI, against your rubric; the panel rates on weighted scorecards | required | High-volume screening where scheduling is the bottleneck |
| Conversational AI Avatar Interview | — | An AI avatar following your script, with follow-ups drawn from your question set | AI, against your rubric; hiring managers also rate the recording | required | Volume screening where every candidate must get identical questions |
| 2-Way Interview | Live, on a scheduled call | Your own team, live | Two or three interviewers score independently; the AI scores beside them without overruling | — | Final-stage rounds run live by your own team |
| Voice Interview | Asynchronous | An automated spoken round from your question sets, with follow-ups | AI, against your rubric; a human makes every call | not required | High-volume, frontline and shift-based hiring |
| Chat Interview | Asynchronous | Text chat from your question sets, with adaptive follow-ups | AI, against your rubric; AI-written answers flagged to a reviewer | not required | Roles where writing is the job; candidates who freeze on camera |
| Conversational Chat Interview | — | A written back-and-forth from your question set; follow-ups when an answer is thin | AI, against your rubric; flags go to a human reviewer | — | Assessing written work rather than recall, with no clock |
| MCQ Rounds | Asynchronous | Multiple-choice items from your own question banks | Auto-marked against the declared answers; no model involved | — | Threshold knowledge checks with a real pass floor |
| Timed Q&A | — | Timed written questions from your question sets | AI, against your rubric; a partial answer is scored on what is there | — | What candidates know, and how they write under time pressure |
Scroll sideways on a small screen. Each format name links to its own page, which states what the round does and, just as plainly, what it does not.
The rest of the suite
Seven more products, on the same engine. Each page below is written from the running application and names what is not built yet.
Intelligent Recruitment Software
Seven modules and one administration area, on one licence and one database. Hire Mode for internal talent teams, Agency Mode for staffing firms who bill clients — the same product, with one module swapped.
See Intelligent Recruitment Software →Business Management System
Five lanes, one chain of records. A quotation becomes an order, an order becomes a delivery, a delivery becomes an invoice — and the money questions read off that same chain rather than a spreadsheet kept beside it.
See Business Management System →Sales CRM
The sales workspace: opportunities tracked by stage and by source, customers and contacts in one place, invoices raised against them, and an approvals queue — with rep targets and team performance on the dashboard.
See Sales CRM →Task & Productivity Manager
Tasks created, prioritised and assigned across boards, calendars and Gantt views, with shared workspaces, in-task comments and file sharing. AI User Triage turns an incoming request into a structured brief, scores its priority and routes it to a team with capacity.
See Task & Productivity Manager →Intelligent Document Management
Reads business cards and receipts in any language, pulls out every field, converts currencies and flags tampering — with local OCR as an automatic offline fallback. Bring in bank statements and reconcile what it extracted against them.
See Intelligent Document Management →Intelligent Note Taker
The Intelligent Note Taker transcribes as people speak, files the decisions, commitments and risks while the room is still talking, and remembers them afterwards. When someone contradicts a decision the team already made, it says so — and quotes both sides.
See Intelligent Note Taker →Private AI Engine
One engine serves the whole suite: it routes each request between a hosted frontier model and a local small model, scrubs PII before anything reaches a model, and answers from a knowledge base you load. Every product is metered through it.
