Screening intelligence,
decided by humans.

AI-powered interview platform

Mimic interviews every applicant the day they apply — across chat, voice, AI video and a live round — and scores every answer against one rubric you define, with the evidence attached.

Candidate interview in the browser. No onboarding, no app to install.

The full round, from invite to scored shortlist.

Seven ways to run a round.
One rubric across all of them.

The shortlist step is where good candidates disappear, so Mimic removes it. Pick the mode that fits the role and the stage — the scoring is identical, so a chat score and a live-round score sit on the same axis.

  • Chat — behavioural text questions, blind assessment, with AI-generated answers detected in real time.
  • Voice and avatar — a spoken round in the browser, or a composed, bias-free assessor that runs the same script every time.
  • AI video and two-way live — structured one-way video for volume, or a real conversation with your team, both scored the same way.
  • MCQ and sections — knowledge checks drawn from your own question sets.
  • A seventh mode — named in the blueprint but not yet described. Confirm and we'll add it.

What Mimic does

Candidate onboarding and system check+
Before a round starts, the candidate runs a short check on camera, microphone and connection, with identity and document collection handled in chat first. Interviewers only reach people who are validated and ready, and nobody loses a round to a broken headset.
Question management that adapts+
Reusable question sets grouped into sections, multiple choice mixed in, and an interview that adapts as it goes. Question generation runs in the background, so a new role doesn't wait on someone writing a bank from scratch.
Invitations that send themselves+
Applicants are invited automatically as they apply, handled by a background worker rather than a person remembering. That is what makes same-day interviewing possible at volume.
Scoring, results and evidence+
Every answer is scored against your rubric by a model tier reserved for scoring, validated against a fixed schema rather than accepted as free text. Each score links back to the transcript excerpt it came from, so a rating can always be traced to something the candidate actually said.
Sentiment and body-language analysis+
AI reads emotional tone and confidence — posture, eye contact, gestures, composure — turning non-verbal signals into structured, reviewable intelligence rather than an interviewer's gut feel written down afterwards.
Pipelines, analytics and centralised evaluation+
Candidates move through pipelines with weighted scorecards and leaderboards, so evaluation lives in one place. Hiring managers rate the same recorded round rather than a summary of it, and transcripts and analytics are retained for reporting.

Candidate data is somebody's career

Recordings, transcripts and scores are the most sensitive data you will hold about a person who doesn't yet work for you.

A human makes the call

Mimic ranks and evidences. It does not reject anyone. The hire, the pass and the pipeline stage are all decisions a person takes, on the record.

One AI gateway, no loose ends

Every model call passes through a single choke point with schema validation, caching, per-tenant rate limits and spend caps. There is no second path to a provider.

Media behind signed links

Recordings sit in private storage reached only through short-lived signed URLs, with lifecycle rules that expire media on a schedule rather than keeping it forever.

Frequently asked questions

Do candidates need to download an app or create an account to take the interview?+
No. The candidate interview runs in the browser, with no onboarding and no app to install.
What happens if a candidate's camera or microphone is not working?+
Before a round starts, the candidate runs a short check of their camera, microphone and connection, and identity and document collection is handled in chat first. Interviewers only reach people who are validated and ready, so nobody loses a round to a broken headset.
How does the AI score interview answers, and can I see why a candidate got a particular score?+
Every answer is scored against the rubric you define by a model tier reserved for scoring, and the output is validated against a fixed schema rather than accepted as free text. Each score links back to the transcript excerpt it came from, so you can see what the candidate actually said to earn a given rating.
Does the AI decide who gets rejected, or does a person?+
A person does. Mimic interviews and scores candidates against your rubric with the evidence attached, but the decision is made by humans: the product is described as screening intelligence decided by humans, and the final stage of its five-stage process is labelled "You decide".
Can I use a chat interview for one stage and a live video interview for another, and still compare candidates fairly?+
Yes. You pick the mode that fits the role and the stage, and scoring is identical across modes, so a chat score and a live-round score sit on the same axis and can be compared directly.
How are interview recordings stored, and are they kept forever?+
Recordings sit in private storage that is reached only through short-lived signed URLs. Lifecycle rules expire media on a schedule rather than keeping it indefinitely.
